House move done, Colours and a new CD to boot!

2016-09-05 00:00:00

After what seems like years of an existence dominated by packing, loading, unloading and unpacking boxes and crates, the Berry household is now ensconced in its new location and small measure (very small measure) of 'normality' is returning to proceedings.  So, without further ado I'd like to announce the arrival of a new CD from the marvellous Robert Hall production line.

Moving House shutdown

2016-08-15 00:00:00

I'm moving house this week, and so for the next few days Baccus will be closed for business and new orders.    Normal service will return to the company on Monday 22nd August although I will be living out packing cases for the next six months!

The Joy of Six 2016 - Part Two

2016-07-25 00:00:00

Welcome to Joy of Six 2016 part 2.   I hope that the first part whetted your appetite nicely as we delve into the second set of wonderful and diverse 6mm games that were on display.

The Joy of Six 2016 - Part One

2016-07-20 00:00:00

Yes, part one, as this year’s JOS was so damned good that I really did not want to short change the event or the people who took so much time and effort to stage what was an outstanding crop of games showcasing 6mm wargaming.

If you are one of the few people on the planet for who 6mm wargaming, ‘has no appeal’, (honestly, I despair!), then please turn down the prejudice rating just a few notches and be prepared to see exactly what the small scale stuff can do.

New Releases! Getcha New Releases!

2016-07-19 00:00:00

With the dust settling nicely on what was a simply outstanding Joy of Six show, (of which more anon), it’s time to make good on my promise of some new releases which were showcased at that event.

First off the blocks are the French half of the new SYW codes which will allow you to extend the conflict to the French Indian Wars.   So, without further ado, you can now prepare to defend New France with the stalwart Compagnies Franche de la Marine

New releases at the Joy of Six

2016-07-13 00:00:00

This is the last post on here before the Joy of Six, so I thought I'd give some advance notice of some new releases we'll be launching at the show.

As you may have gathered from the above photograph we'll have the very first unveiling of our new WW2 British paras.   There will be both standard infantry and a range of support weapons.

Featured Game JOS16: The Somme

2016-07-11 00:00:00

Over the past few weeks, I've been showcasing just a few of the outstanding games that you'll be able to experience at this year's Joy of Six show.  With just a few days to go to the event. it's time to give you a taster of what will be the biggest game on display.  Robert Dunlop will be presenting a massive recreation of the Battle of the the Somme.  As ever, the definitive description comes best in the words of the designer:

Featured Game JOS 16: The Bridge at Remagen

This week's game is from the Deeside defenders who have pulled out a spectacular idea for our delectation and entertainment.   Over to Phil Broeders for the briefing...

For those who have not yet seen the light...

There’s been a lot of announcements of late about a funny little show in Sheffield coming up in July called the ‘Joy of Six’.   Yes, a show all about 6mm miniatures.    Most of you reading this will be quite happy with the concept, but I'm sure you all know fellow wargamers who will be saying to themselves,  ‘So what?   How is that going to help me find the exact Vallejo paint needed to add the highlights on the eyebrows of my 1807 Vistula legion elites’?    They probably also have one or more of the following thoughts:
