Maidenhead and District Gamers

Denis Jackman writes

So here we are, Zulu hour is less then 24 hours away, 2870 figures painted and ready. The scenery is done and bottles of port are on standby. Since we last posted we have run through the game 4-5 more times. Here is some shots of the terrain boards (set up for a play test) prior to final detailing.

As you can see there is a lot more detailing to have been done at this stage (that was taken last Friday (27/06/2008).

Here you see a play test in action. Rob Jones is running the game for some of our younger members. One of whom ran the game on Sunday in an additional play test over the weekend. The results from this were very positive everyone picked it up easily (rule 1 of participations games design) and each game last 40 minutes or less (rule 2 of participations games design) and everyone had fun (rules 3 to 99 of participations games design).

Here are some more shots of Rob in action here the players are rushing into action.

Here we have the Zulus reaching the British lines.

And another shot of the same.

Finally not being one to shirk from the hard work here I am hard at work. Notice throughout that range sticks have been used this makes the work of moving and firing very easy for the players.
Finally the pride and joy of our game (other the secret Blue Police box which will be in evidence) is our herd of Zulu cattle.

If you are at Battlegroup South this weekend come and see us. We have been confirmed for Warfare 2008 on 22-23 November 2008 at the Rivermead in reading.
