About Baccus 6mm
Build Massive Armies.
Fight Epic Battles.
Go BIG by going small!
Baccus 6mm produces high-quality 6mm historical miniatures that let you recreate grand battles—without the cost or space of larger scales.
Wargaming is dominated by 28mm figures, BUT pretty as they are, they can be expensive and very (very) time consuming and difficult to paint. Designed & produced in the UK, our models are perfect for large-scale historical battles. If you want to collect huge armies at a fraction of the cost and in a time-scale measured in something less than decades, then 6mm is waiting for you.
So, why choose 6mm Scale?
In a hobby dominated by larger scale models you may be wondering why anyone would want to downscale to smaller scales. So, lets have a look at why 6mm is such a great choice:
If you want to fight full-scale battles with hundreds or even thousands of soldiers, 6mm makes it possible, even on a small table. Playing a big battle with 28mm figures on a standard wargames table means you have to compromise with either reducing the number of models you use or risking creating a military-themed miniature traffic jam!
6mm units have a smaller table-top footprint which means that what would be a tiny table for battles in 28mm becomes a wide-open vista for the 6mm general. All of this means that 28mm games are fast becoming skirmish games with a handful of figures per side. Choosing 6mm lets you command entire armies, not just units.
Faster painting, Now this is the one that usually causes a mixture of disbelief. Painting 6mm is not only quicker than large scale figures, it is also easier. Easier? Yes, easier. How can this be the case? Follow this link here to find out, but to cut it short, think about a future of painting figures that doesn’t involve painting eyeballs…
and more practical transport than is possible with 28 armies. Put very simply, increasing the height of the model massively increases the volume it occupies. You can store 8-12 6mm figures in the space that a single 28mm figure occupies. The ratio is even more favourable when it comes to terrain models.
Finally, and very importantly, 6mm offers incredible value for money. A starter army of several hundred 6mm figures, can be had for the price of a couple of 28mm units.
In short, 6mm lets you fight huge actions practically, and is easier and faster to paint, more convenient to store and offers far greater value for money than 28mm figures.
