Hi Iron Ass!

We have 4 folding tables of 70x180cm!

This allowed us to play games in the most popular format as explained above, 180x120cm!

But also bigger games: 210x180cm with 3 tables and 280x180 with 4 tables! :-)

Thank you all... this is becoming interesting... I have a 220cms x 120cms table aprox: 8'x4' and a bigger one about  180cms x 240cms 6'x8' aprox. The doubt is which one to keep (or maybe both!). They are both "permanent" it is interesting the use of folding tables I did it in my youth but only because we had to dismantle the game each day at the end! (Small apartment and no place in my old office... from then on every office had a big table for everything... business and wargaming.... I am delighted by your prompt and rational answers. Thanks a lot.View of my big table with a 25mm Waterloo game on... it is an old pic... it even shows a long gone extension on dark green due to lack of place with 25mm... That was nearly 30 years of my wargaming life... A deep crisis with that scale followed... Cheers

Hello ironass!

If you can only keep one my vote would be the 6' x 8'. You need as much depth as you can get to avoid being always locked into long narrow battles. Yes most battles were just two straight lines having a go at each other. A lot of the more interesting battles were not. They often have some depth, maybe curves or refused flanks. To take advantage of these types of battles you need table depth to be able to adjust/twist the battle to conform to your table. It's one of the great advantages of using 6mm. It allows you to capture the actual body of a battle in all of it's various shapes and sizes. Frankly, the average battale of just two straight lines having a go at each other are often pretty boring.

Best regards,

Glenn

Glenn ...  you are right of course!... the bigger the better... evn in 6mm... so if I lose the one in the pic I will increase the other one to at least 8' x 5' ... Thanks for your answers.
