TOPIC: Alamo Defenders? |

I have given that some thought in the past. For Mexicans the French Napoleonics post 1812 would be best. They do not appear to have epaulettes or gaiters. The post 1812 artillery are also fine. I think that many of the Mexican cavalry in the 1830s dressed much the same as the French line lancers, with similar helmet and carrying a lance. The trickiest figure to find would be the local militia cavalry in the hat resembling a boater, possibly Sun King cavalry with an added lance, although they did wear a very short bolero style jacket. For the defenders the Pony Wars Civilians can supply some useful figures, including the likes of Mrs Travers and daughter. You might also consider the AWI American militia in hunting shirt and round hat. For the New Orleans Greys try NPRO2 Prussian Reserve Infantry from the Napoleonic range. Wars of the Sun King artillery might proxy for Alamo artillery. A little goes a long way |

Gosh they would make for some more excellent defenders. This action is so small it could be done 1:1 in 6mm. A little goes a long way |
