TOPIC: 1882 Egyptian artillery |
Standard User Posts: 6 Emjenic 13th Jul 2021 08:49:57 As I have been reading the Osprey Campaign on the Egyptian intervention of 1882 I could not resist ordering some colonial figures (as if I needed another project! Duh). However, I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for proxies for the Egyptian artillery, conspicuously absent from the Baccus catalogue as yet... |
Maybe the FPW Krupp. I know the Mahdists used captured Krupps and they certainly didn't get them from the British, so they must have come from the Egyptians. A little goes a long way |

The addition of just Egyptian artillery, cavalry, and camelry (mounted and dismounted) would extend the range enormously. Can't think of suitable proxies, myself. Cutting off and replacing heads would be a bit too fiddly in 6mm! By the way, I would suggest William Wright's, "A Tidy Little War" as a good book on the subject. Just read it a few months ago. |
Pretty sure it would be quite straightforward to file a 6mm pickelhaub into a fez. A little goes a long way |
