TOPIC: Pony Wars Terrain |
Standard User Posts: 16 True Grit 15th Mar 2020 08:48:17 So being really impressed with the sample unit of US Cavalry on display at Newark yesterday, I determined to recreate the old Pony Wars convention game in 6mm, I thought that if the Baccus figures are not out until later this year, then that gives me plenty of time to gather and paint up terrain and make up the hills, passes and other scenics for the game. Our gaming group is really taken with the idea of this as most of us have fond memories of the old convention games. In 6mm, what can be put on table becomes much more epic, so the Irregular Steam Train - the iron horse itself, just cries out to thunder on table as a game option. Having explored various manufacturers stands and websites there is actually a lot of 6mm old west buildings available already and they will all serve well. But there is one iconic American piece that isnt made in 6mm - the Halladay Windmill. Anybody seen anything like this from any manufacturer in 6mm? |

Administrator Posts: 897 peter 25th Mar 2020 10:15:37 I am intending to release a range of 6mm buildings based upon the scratch build 15mm versions used in the original game. I have plans. I am dangerous when I have plans... |
Standard User Posts: 47 Igor 25th Mar 2020 11:50:32 I remember the original mesas were built from yoghurt pots. Has anyone else noticed how yoghurt pots have shrunk over the last 30 years ? From 15mm to 6mm ? I think the 'Baccus effect' is more widespread than we realised. I therve the marthter. |
Standard User Posts: 59 Harlequin 26th Mar 2020 02:20:30 http://www.levenminiatures.co.uk/western.html Leven Miniatures have an "Old West" range in 6mm. No windmill, but they do have things like a water tower and a mine entrance, in addition to their buildings. |
