TOPIC: Differences between NFR22 and NFR23? |
Hello all, It looks like my Napoleonic collection may finally include some Frenchies. I'm aiming for 1809-1813, and are deciding on how to model them. I can see the difference between the 1806-1812 and 1812-1815 infantry, but what I can't much of a difference is in the NFR22/23 Line and "Elite" infantry (and the same for their greatcoat variants). Can someone who has these figures provide more detail on the minutiae of these miniscule men? |

I don't own these particular miniatures so someone else will have to confirm if that's the extent of it. |

The elites wear the sabrebriquet (combined sword and bayonet holder) on the left side, and this is carried on a baldric. They also have epaulettes. The familiar distinction of a large plume was lost as the wars went on and later elites used pom poms like the line. I have plans. I am dangerous when I have plans... |
All good to know. I think I'll reserve elite infantry for young/middle guard, if I ever get around to them (and who am I kidding, that's a matter of when, not if!). |

Administrator Posts: 897 peter 5th Nov 2021 01:14:15 The later uniform is much simpler. Short tail jacket, no shako cords, no plumes and loose trousers. A different and more practical uniform, but with less elegance.
