I'd like to know the dimensions of artillery gun models. Approx. how wide is a gun and it's carrage? I am wondering if I could squeez two crew and a gun model on a 1 x 1/2 inch base/

I understand the infantry strips are 20mm wide (and approx. 5mm deep). Please correct me if I have this wrong!

Thanks!

Mike

Mike

These are my Danish, A-H, and Prussian artillery stands. They are on a 1" x 1" stand.

Nice!  I am thinking of using Baccus 6mm with the Blucher rules. I'm thinking of basing infantry on 2" square bases that will have a 1 x 1/2 inch sabot that can be used to show attached artillery.  The artillery units will have a 2 x 1/2 inch sabot where guns can be attached when massing batteries.  2 crew on the gun base, the other 2 crew mounted directly behind them... perhaps there may even be enough room to put limbers?

1/2" depth will be very tight for most guns, 1" wide is fine as crew can go beside

Limbers and hroses ideally need 2" length, maybe slightly less if they are jammed in.

In Blucher units are half as deep as wide so if your unit was 2" deep it should be 4" wide.  I would suggest slightly less depth and more width, eg 3" by 1.5" would give space to put your gun beside the infantry.

To be honest given the wonky look you would end up with for units without attached artillery I'd probably just use a marker and then just use the guns for the massed artillery battery.  It will also save you painting up tons of guns and crew.
