No idea, but Austrian ones later in the century were yellow ochre. A little goes a long way |
I am not a betting man. But in this period I would be quite on the safe side if I assumed varnished wood... the tonality of the varnish is up to you... I don't think there was any uniformity in colour farther than that. |

Blue (with Yellow metal): Sweden. Green (with Black metal): Russia ~1707. Grey (with Black metal): English/British. Red (with Black Metal): France; Hannover; Russia post-1721; United Provinces (& I presume Spanish Netherlands?). Red (with Yellow Metal): Denmark; Russia 1700 & probably 1710-1721. gsayhi - the 'yellow' for the woodwork is actually yellow, a colour often called 'Ochre Yellow'. |
