A rather special new release...
Before we get on with detailing today’s new releases, it’s time to get down to the regular business of the magic order number, which this week stands at #29705. As I type this, the Sands of Time have run their course and Lindy’s rash decision to start a sale behind my back, (and, yes, that’s exactly what she did) is now safely behind us. I think that she only does these things to wind me up…
Meanwhile, I am delighted to be able to announce the first release of the Autumn season, and it’s a rather special one. If one topic has dominated questions and requests over the past few months, it’s been the promised Italian Wars figures. It’s taken a while, but we will now be cranking these out, but at a slower rate than usual. The reason is that we are taking the time and trouble to give you the models that this subject deserves. Not only is each basic code getting more sculpts, these are being heavily modified to give you the degree of variation in dress that is a feature of this period.

The first releases are some Gendarmes. As an example of the process involved, each code has nine individual basic sculpts, all with different armour, horse barding and pose. These basic figures have then had a further set of variations in the form of helmet plume. The end result is spectacular and really works to give the variety that the subject demands.

You can find the details here.
Next up will be the Landsknecht pike which are currently being dressed with a range of natty period hats and headwear. These will be followed up by Arquebusier, swordsmen etc. and will be followed by the Swiss. This means that the range will be released over a more extended period than is usual, but the extra delay will really be well worth it.
We’ll have stock of the new Gendarmes at Colours on the 14th, but if you want to be certain of getting your hands on some, then place an order with us for collection at the show.
We are working hard on a major release of WW2 codes for Colours, but it’s a bit of a race against time, so we’ll hope to give you more news on this in the coming days.
