JOS25, Lens and Claymore.
Lots to chat about today, but first, this week’s magic number which is #32425.
The Joy of Six is now a week behind us, but we at Baccus central are still recovering. It’s been a real whirlwind of activity. Many thanks to all those who turned up, played the games, visited the traders, asked the questions or just walked around and looked at the great games on show. We’ve simply not had time to even consider putting a show report together, but there are already a few out there for you to look at:
https://hereticalgaming.blogspot.com/ Jon Hetherington’s view on the day including his experience as a panellist.

For those of you who didn’t make it, I hope that these reports will encourage to you to make the journey to sunny Sheffield in 2026. For the record, this was the most ‘international’ show that we have had to date, with attendees from all parts of the UK, Ireland, Denmark, Sweden, the USA and Australia. Now that trip up the M1 from London doesn’t seem so far, does it?

We were very pushed for time leading up the show, and we didn’t have the time to show off some of our new stuff. We can rectify this now. Here are our lovely new 8th Army and DAK HQ sets, painted by the talented Wing Commander Luddite.

And while we are at it, here is a similar set dating from 1918 in the form of a US HQ set.

The Baccus Lens 1648 game was ready for play, even if some of the paint may have been a little ‘tacky’. We went right to the wire getting this show-ready. As it happened, the game was a great hit, being busy all day with no shortage of would be generals having a go.

The plan is now to take this game on tour. However, in order for us to do so, we need a helping hand. We don’t have the personnel to run the game at every show we attend, so we are looking for volunteers. It’s a role that comes with a few perks and you get to be part of great project. It is already booked in to Claymore, and we have already got volunteers to run it at Partizan 2 and Warfare.
If you fancy being part of the Lens project and would like to run the game at any of the following shows, please do get in touch.
- Colours, Newbury
- Fiasco, Leeds
- Battleground, Middlesborough
- Fiasco, Pudsey
- Vapnartak, York
- Hammerhead, Newark
- Salute, London
- Partizan, Newark
Two wrap up for today, Claymore is just two weeks away, and we are unlikely to be able to take a fully stocked trade stand after suffering the ravages of a busy JOS. If you are going to the show and know what you want, please do get in touch so that we can ensure that you are able to get what you want.
