TOPIC: Sun King additions |
Very pleased with my recent purchase of a Sun King army, and would love to see a couple of additions to the range. If you agree, please remember to state how many packs you would be prepared to buy as this informs Peter as to whether it would be worth his while to produce them. 1. Armoured pike in classical style helmet, which were unique to the French army, particularly the Swiss regiments. I would buy two packs of these. 2. Generals in the flamboyant hats of the 1670s to 90s. I would buy two packs of these.

The Swiss regiments' pikemen in the French army continued to wear the classical helmet right to the end of the C17th. A little goes a long way |

Swiss Regiments disbanded Pikes (and Armour) in 1703/04, Helmets a bit later. Sweden disbanded Armour completly in 1680. Armour in English and in Dutch Regiments came out of fassion in the 1690s. Helmets (wide brimmed Cabasset Type) were disbanded a bit earlier (late 1670s). |
