TOPIC: Confused About British Colonial Range |
Standard User Posts: 3 Professor 11th Apr 2023 06:42:53 I am confused as to the difference between two sets of British Colonial figures in the Colonial range. Could someone please tell me the difference between the models in CBR01 - British Infantry - Marching and CBR21 - British Infantry - Marching or the difference between CBR02 - British Infantry - Firing and CBR22 - British Infantry - Firing? Thanks in advance. |
CBR01 AND 02 are in the red coat uniform of the 1879 Zulu War, 1885 war in the Sudan and the First Boer War. CBR21 and 22 are in the later uniform of the 1890s, mostly associated with the second war in the Sudan. If you look carefully you may spot that the later uniform includes the wound puttees, usually associated with WWI, and also a different, later model of sun helmet with a wider brim. By this time the days of the red coat were over and troops wore khaki tunics and blue grey shirts. They often fought in shirt sleeve order in the hotter colonial climates. A little goes a long way |
