Bit of a longshot, but I'm located in the center of North Louisiana.  I got to be part of the initial appearance of a gaming store in our tiny town, and there's a good couple dozen wargamers (all focused on Games Workshop for the meantime).  I have managed to grab a few friends and funnel them towards historical wargaming, and recently have gotten them into Napoleonics (hopefully with some armies of their own getting ordered soon).

However, I know that I'm well below the expected age of a historical wargamer, and they don't tend to visit university grounds often.  So if anyone in the area happens to see this, know that there's more of us out here!

I'm in the Ruston area, right along I-20.

I'm about a hour and a half south of you then. Unless you live on the other side of I-20

Sent a PM to you, not sure if it went through or not.  But yes I should be about an hour and a half away.  As I said before, there's a local game store here that's free to use, so unless there's somewhere similar between Alexandria and here then I think that's the best bet for a meetup location.
