Hello,

Im planning on expanding my 6mm WW1 collection with 1914 Belgians and Germans. I was wondering if anyone could suggest some miniatures which would be suitable for 1914 Belgian Cavalry, infantry and machine guns.

Thanks in advance!

Andrew

The Baccus early war French infantry and cavalry will be fine for Belgian standard infantry and the Chasseurs equivalents. The Baccus French MG is not histortically correct but will be fine if the uniforms are painted as Belgians. Other cavalry and infantry types (eg Guides or Carabineers) will have to be sourced from other suppliers.

You could try FPP07 for Guides (Prussian Hussars from FPW) and FPP10 for Lanciers (Prussian Uhlans).

This can be a difficult army to put together in 6mm. I ended up using figures from elsewhere, but am most happy with my 15mm army, for which I use Great Escape Games' 1914 rules. As far as I can tell there are no representations in 6mm of the earliest Belgians in greatcoat and shako. The 1866 skirmishing Austrians are likely the best bet.

I will be releasing Belgians once the Eastern Front ranges are complete.

Huzzah - GWSH2 in Belgium is something I have long contemplated, even buying, but not yet playing, Marching To War.

Quick question regarding the Austrian Jaegers (Six Weeks War), are they in greatcoats like the Austrian infantry or are they in basic tunics? Looking at the models, they look to be in tunics but if they had greaatcoats they might work as Carabiniers.

Thanks again!

I hope to get the Belgians out late 2018/early 2019.  Yes, the 1866 jaegers will work perfectly for Carabiniers.
