Hi,

Does anyone have any ideas for proxies for French Gardes d'Honneur and Bavarian Landwehr / Mobile infantry?

Unable to help. Thought you might have been referring to the FPW.

Hi, the official uniform for the bavarian Landwehr was very french in style (without lapels, but that can simply be done by not painting them), so I think, you can use french uniforms for them. But as far as I know, only very few of these men got any uniform, so french in greatcoats, maybe mixed with french in uniforms, maybe a good idea.

Hello John!

I'm planning on using NFR06 - French Hussars as French Gardes d'Honneur. Painted up they should pass very nicely to all but the "oh no those are not FGdH".

As Ralf says the Bavarian Landwher were not all uniformed. The only image I can recall seeing actually looked like a Prussian Musketeer with a shako cover and great coat rolled over the shoulder so if I was going to paint them I would use NPR01 (which I think you didn't like). The uniform looked to be all very pale light blue so would be very good looking painted up and very different from anybody else.

Best regards,

Glenn
