Anyone got any ideas for Bavarian Limbers for an 1809 campaign?

The only references I can find show the riders in helmets and I can't see any alternatives with helmets except British Horse Artillery.

Dear Jon

When assembling my Bavarian Artillery, I had exactly the same question.

After much discussion with Peter, I chose Russian Limber crews (NRU29), as they had tall helmets with a crest.  I was really pleased with the result.  I would recommend this solution.

I also considered British Horse Artillery, as they have a Tarleton Helmet, but they lack the height of the Russian Horse Artillery hats.  I am hoping to put my Bavarian troops up on my blog (Colin the Wargamer), in the next week (or at least that is plan "A"), so I can let you know here and you can look at photo of the painted result.

I trust that this has helped.

Best wishes

Colin

I went with the British in Tarltons as I wasn't aware of the Russian Horse artillery option.

Oh well.....

Thanks Colin.  Didn't spot them on my perusal of the Russians.  Much appreciated.

Dear Jon1066 and other Bavarian fans.  I have added a page to my blog to showcase my Bavarian troops.  Link here https://colinthewargamer.blogspot.com/p/gallery-napoleonic-bavaria-1809-bbb-army.html

Despite help from a more experienced forum contributor (thanks Whirlwind!) I have yet to master inserting photos.  Sorry!  I hope this helps for anyone contemplating buying, or expanding, their Bavarian army(s).  Cheers!  Colin
