A fascinating, versatile and conveniently sized faction for the High Middle Ages period. I would love to field these guys against Byzantine, Saracen or Latin enemies. Anyone have ideas what figures I could use?

The catalan company or Almogàvers in catalan, were highly mobile displined light troups. In fact the were based on muslim light troops coming from the arab al-mogauar, lit.?'Raiders'
They were characterized as being infantry shock troops that fought on foot, with light arms and baggage, generally with a pair of javelins, one short spear ("ascona muntera" in Catalan, meaning "a hunting spear") and a falchion. They had full beards and dressed poorly, only in a short gown (both in summer and winter); they wore a thick leather belt and leather sandals. 

I think the closest you might ge are the Spanish ASP02 - Spanish Caetratii

and Celtic javelinmen

maybe mixed in with some  ADA03 - Dacian Archers

 

and ADA04 - Bastarnae Infantry - Falx

Add in some Saxon generals (heavy foot leaders) and Crusader Generals in heavy period armour thrown into the mix as leaders and that should give you a good approximation to the catalan almogavers.
