this "first post bug" makes things very hard to keep track of! any joy regarding getting to the bottom of it? 

It now appears that the fgirst post in a new thread appears and then stays, such as the 6mm and eyesight thread which has just appeared. For now I am simply checking on those posts where the title interests me. Please don't be vague with titles as it may discourage opening a thread.
