TOPIC: Battle of Gnila Lipa |
Standard User Posts: 207 monk2002uk 4th Jun 2019 05:17:34 The Great War offering for Joy of Six this year will be a reproduction of the Battle of Gnila Lipa. Er, where you ask? It was a major battle between the Russians and Austro-Hungarians during the first round of heavy fighting in August 1914. The Gnila Lipa is a river in what was Galicia, now Western Ukraine. First up are the Austro-Hungarians. Some samples of figures from the new Baccus range: Russians next. Robert |

Standard User Posts: 207 monk2002uk 4th Jun 2019 09:17:31 We are using Great War Spearhead 2 and the 'Summer Harvest' supplement. The battle is set out in two scenarios in the supplement, which we are joining together to form one long table on the day. Robert |

Standard User Posts: 207 monk2002uk 5th Jun 2019 05:36:27 Yes, definitely. Robert |
Excellent work. I really like the way you have rendered the cavalry as 1914 hussars. A little goes a long way |
Standard User Posts: 207 monk2002uk 5th Jun 2019 12:05:30 Thank you. The photos were taken with the macro lens but the exposure time was too long. I am going to try again when I photograph the newly painted examples of Russian figures as well. Robert |
Standard User Posts: 10 witchhammer92 5th Jun 2019 04:38:50 Please plenty of photos after it's all done and dusted please Robert! I'm yet to play a game of GWSH but my mate and myself are planning on doing a Tannenberg demonstration game(s) at our club in Australia later in the year so this very much interests me. :) If you want to see my current projects I have photos up on my blog (linked below). Focus on 6mm Napoleonics and WW1. |
Standard User Posts: 207 monk2002uk 5th Jun 2019 07:32:31 Whereabouts in Australia? Robert |
Standard User Posts: 207 monk2002uk 6th Jun 2019 08:41:24 Some more photos, including a few repeats but from a different angle (and better exposure time):
My favourite is the pilot.... Robert |
