Standard User Posts: 3 Shrimpyhugs 29th Jul 2019 02:39:50 Super happy with my first foray into 6mm miniatures, they're so much fun to paint and the massed effect you get is real cool! Here's a link to some photos of my Roman and Carthaginian armies so far. already got a second purchase of stuff on the way to bulk out the armies and give the Carthaginians some more mercenaries such as Gauls and Numidians! |

The basing looks set fair for the Little Wars TV's ancients rule set, Hannibal. A great set of rules for which it is also possible to buy some downloadable ancient buildings from them and also to get some ancient city walls to down load for free. There are also scenario books available from them. A little goes a long way |
Standard User Posts: 3 Shrimpyhugs 12th Aug 2019 09:22:09 Thanks everyone, I have the Age of Hannibal rules and thats what i've used to play with them so far. I've had a couple issues with the rules though, as the Morale clock system doesn't create a very realistic outcome with the amount of units i've got (the example scenarios in the book are twice the amount of units) and I'm not a super big fan of the amount of counters you need to track hits and stuff. I am likely going to be trying Big Battle DBA rules as they dont rely on counters as much. |
Are these amounts in pounds and ounces or in kilos and grams. I have about 6oz of Republican Romans at the moment. Are you suggesting I double up to 12oz to get a decent game? A little goes a long way |
