TOPIC: The Future is Here |
Standard User Posts: 207 monk2002uk 11th Apr 2020 10:09:20 I don't mean Covid-19. As part of the Gallipoli campaign, I created a model of Sedd el Bahr Fort. The fort overlooked V Beach at Cape Helles. Here is a photo of the model: Thanks to photogrammetry, it has been possible to transform the model into a 3D image for printing. Here is how the software recreated the model from 42 photos taken with an iPhone, each photo taken from a different angle: And here is a view of the STL model, ready to 3D print: And the final 3D print, hot off the printer (literally) this morning. The base measures 3" x 3": Back to the original, here are Baccus Middle East WW1 figures trying to get off V Beach under fire from the fort: Robert |
