Thanks. In Deo Vertias could have used another couple of rounds of edits before being published. Like DBA, the rules are confusing and rambling (poorly organized, acronyms are used without being defined, there are mechanics questions that simply aren't answered in the text, and there's a lot of useless flavor text which is clearly the authors talking to themselves). BUT - if you're willing to spend some time adjusting them and filling the gaps yourself (just as with DBA) they are really great rules. The base depicted here is a 3 inch x 3 inch base, which is used for irregular cavalry companies only. Most bases in an IDV army will be brigade sized bases (the same for foot and horse) which are 3 inches x 1.5 inches. A 5,000 point IDV army (about average size) usually consists of around 20 units (of differing base sizes, but most will be brigade sized). Hope that helps! |
