Sorry for the lighting. Working on some more highlanders and some gentlemen cavalry. At Claymore, I also picked up some artillery and Scots shot and pike. Aha! those sort of Highlanders. They do look remarkably good. Would make Montrose a very happy man. A little goes a long way |
They look really nice! And Killiecrankie is an interesting action. |

![]() Standard User Posts: 24 6mm Highlandersstreetgang 15th Aug 2024 02:26:37 Thank's for the kind words gentlemen! I plan on 6-7 bases of highlanders which should be good for Killiecrankie. Cavalry will be two small bases comprised of WEC39 (Highlander genetlemen cavalry) and SKW04 (Dundee's horse). These fellas will also form the core of the Whig army for Argyll's Uprising. Helion has a wargamer's companion for the Monmouth and Argyll uprisings called "One King" whch includes hypothetical scenarios and force compositions. Lowlander Whig units will probably be a mix of WEC07, SKW01, and WEC13. Government forces for both Killiecrankie and Argyll's Uprising will be mixes of the Sun King and Scottish ECW ranges...I plan to use the Spanish ruleset Liber Militum's Tercios which I think will be ideal for battles this size, I will keep you posted and update with pictures here. |

I finished a third highlander base as well as some cavalry detachments and the two command stands. Here is everything en masse.
The two cavalry detachments representing some mounted gentlemen highlanders and those members of the Royal Regiment of Horse that followed Dundee into supporting the Jacobute cause.
The two commanders, Ewan Cameron of Locheil on the left and Bonnie Dundee on the right.
Third highlander unit with the black and white saltire flag. More photos and background information here: https://lecoqfou.blogspot.com/2024/08/raise-clans.html |
They look great - well done! |

![]() Standard User Posts: 24 6mm Highlandersstreetgang 4th Sep 2024 12:04:07 Managed to push through painting the last of the highlanders and got the basing done, the Jacobite army for the Killiecrabkie project is complete.
Six units of highlanders, one of Irish, two cavalry detachments and the command bases of Dundee and Cameron. Not a big army but the perfect size for the Tercios ruleset.
Three new units of Highlanders.
Purcell's Irish contingent. Next up, I will tackle Mackay's Government army, more pictures and background info here: https://lecoqfou.blogspot.com/2024/09/jacobites-completed.html?m=1
