This produced a very enjoyable game for us, using Mark's Baccus 6mm armies. Photo-AAR on the BBBBlog here: |
It was an interesting report, many thanks. And good news about the upcoming scenario book (I like scenario books...); I think that the moment you choose to start a battle of Ocana - like Salamanca - will heavily dictate what kind of game you get. |

Mark has done a good job on Salamanca. Sometimes BBB scenarios give players quite a lot of latitude. The Alma is one of my favourites, where the Allies are not necessarily condemned to a tedious frontal assault - both sides have significant pre-game options, producing a matrix of possible battle set-ups. Others follow the historical script more closely but provide 'Scenario Options' that let players choose to play a somewhat different 'What-If' game. Lots of ways to slice it. The critical thing is to give players enough interesting choices to make during the game, while still letting the battle keep some recognisable historical shape. |
