Rebased ACW armies

Years ago, my mate Nick left me his Baccus ACW armies when he emigrated. They were on 40mm bases. After more than a decade of using card sabots to make them conform to the 1"x1" base standard for the "Bloody Big BATTLES!" rules, I finally rebased them for BBB. They had their first outing at Kennesaw Mountain this week and performed creditably. I think they look very smart (as newly based troops always do, to me). Photo-report here.

Yes they do look good. I rebased my 6mm FPW onto 75mm bases so that I could arrange them in contemporary formations. I use a 5mm dice at the back of the base to show initial strength in actual bases. So a cavalry nunit may look magnificent, but it is usually starting with a strength of two on the dice.

A little goes a long way

Thanks, Andy. Yes, big diorama bases would work too, as witness my mate Dave O's lovely 6mm armies in this Gettysburg game last September.
