Administrator Posts: 897 peter 16th Nov 2020 01:10:40 We don't do cavalry cornets/standards for any period. In this scale they are approximately 5mm square, and details would be impossibly small. A basic paintjob in the cast standards is usually all that is needed. I have plans. I am dangerous when I have plans... |

Standard User Posts: 9 jimbo 11th Dec 2020 09:41:01 Wow! - Maverick Models is a great site. Thanks for pointing it out pushing.tin. I’ve been looking for a source for late-Napoleonic Prussian cavalry and different Landwehr flags for a few years now, with no luck until today. I do have a question, though, that some of you more knowledgeable chaps than me might know the answer to: My next two regiments are going to be IR 28 & 29; formerly known as 1st & 2nd Berg Regiments, as they appeared in the 100 Days. Maverick Models do their flags up to 1813, but there (as with every source I’ve been able to dredge up), History Ends; when Kleve-Berg joins Prussia. Did they keep their old flags post-1813? I would actually doubt it, as those “N” monographs in two of the corners are a bit, well, embarrassing after switching sides; but I can’t find any mention of them receiving new flags. The simplest option from their point of view would be to perhaps modify the existing flags with a bit of appliqué over the offending corners, but again can’t find details. Any thoughts or suggestions welcome. |
Standard User Posts: 9 jimbo 27th Dec 2020 08:19:18 Thanks Mollinary - useful to know that they didn't have flags, although the site you mention does say that they may have had undocumented unofficial ones; a bit like a lot of the Landwehr. The site did brush the rust off my French, though! |
