TOPIC: Bases and paint |
Hi All, I'm currently also working on a 2mm army project and I was hoping to use the 30x30 Baccus bases for that as well. Ideally I would like to first stick the miniatures onto a base and only then prime them. Will the mdf of these bases stand acryllic primer from a spray can (Vallejo), or will it warp? Can anyone tell me from experience? Thnx |

No they won't warp. I have produced 2mm Armies for the battle of Langensaltza 1866 between Prussia and Hanover. In fact I terrained the bases, immediately after gluing the blocks on, with Windsor and Newton modelling paste. I then did a mix of painting, wahing and dry brushing, plus painting the base edges, after the figures were completed with no warping of the mdf at all. Once you go beyond the likes of 100mm base width you may want to worry about warping. A little goes a long way |
Thanks guys, that's the answer I was looking for. |
This is one of the great benefits of the forum. Thanks Peter. A little goes a long way |
