TOPIC: brigade buildings |
Standard User Posts: 182 rsjahn 11th Aug 2019 07:20:23 Has anyone tried Brigade Buildings? The are made for 2mm (1/1000th scale ) and maybe are to small for 6mm, but they may be usefull for town sectors for Spearhead. My usual 6mm buldings are to big for that. http://brigademodels.co.uk/SmallScaleScenery/index.html |
Brigade buildings are very nice indeed. They are larger than Irregular's 2mm buildings. My brother uses them with 6mm figures as town markers in Bloody Big Battles. I use them with Peter Pig 3mm figures.will try and post a photo later.
A little goes a long way |
Standard User Posts: 208 Nick the Lemming 11th Aug 2019 12:08:53 They're very nice - a lot of people use 3mm buildings with 6mm figures to create larger towns in a small area, and they work really well. Have a look at the Little Wars TV Gettysburg games for similar sized building / figures in action. |
Standard User Posts: 207 monk2002uk 12th Aug 2019 08:43:58 Ralf, it really comes down to personal taste. The Brigade Models buildings are beautiful. Superbly cast with no flash and lots of variety. Personally, I find them too small for 6mm Spearhead but it only cost a few pounds to buy one pack to check on the size for myself. I use the Oddzial Osmy buildings, which I source from Magister Militum in England now. Total Battle Miniatures do nice buildings in 3mm as well but not as individual houses and only for Western Front. Alternatively, GHQ Models are on the small side of '6mm' and have worked better than larger scale 6mm buildings. Check out PaperTerrain too. There is a wide range of 3mm buildings across different theatres. The buildings and ruins are easy to make up. Here is an example: And with 6mm figures in the vicinity: Robert |

Standard User Posts: 182 rsjahn 12th Aug 2019 09:55:03 Thank you for all you advice and examples! I will give Brigade a try, have already ordered some. Paper terrain ist interesting too, I'm using there 6mm buldings a lot. Thanks again! Ralf |

This is something I've been wondering about too. Especially at the grand tactical scale where 1" = 100 yards or so, true 6mm buildings are on the large side and a town would fit fit only one or two buildings in the space. Little Wars TV have lots of free paper buildings in 3mm scale to download. I'll certinly take a look at Paper Terrain. Fortunately for my Thiepval game, the village of Thiepval itself was pretty much rubble. https://godsownscale2.blogspot.com/ The God's Own Scale Podcast can be found here... |
