I have not yet taken them to the table yet as I have been busy rebasing them to what you see. I plan on going to a local hobby shop next weekend to get them on the table, but mainly use it as a way to learn the rules. Going to start with Brigade FIre and Fury. I currently have 5 brigades for both Union and Confederate rebased, so I have a small corps per side to manuever to learn the rules. With the way I am basing them with the extra command stands I currently have 16 Confederate Brigades and 15 Union Brigades for learning Alter of Freedom. |

On the more famous brigades or unique Regiments I am adding state flags in addition to the National Flags (for Confederates) or instead of Regiment flags (for Union) Stonewall Brigade | Jim Johnson | Flickr Next is the 33rd Virginia 33rd Virginia in Blue | Jim Johnson | Flickr While I was waiting to get to the store for some paint I completed a batch of Split Rail fencing for the battlefield. I'm planning on putting the Army of Shenandoah vs Tyler's complete division on the table at a local hobby shop tomorrow. Will take some pictures and post them. Now that I have these units completed I plan on working on some better scenery while I wait to order more troops. Thanks for looking

The sceneario I laid out was loosely based on Hoke's Run which was fought on July 2, 1861. In that battle Col Jackson was to slow the Union advance which he did. It was a battle between Col Jackson's brigade and 2 Union Brigades. In my short game today, Col Jackson was again sucessful in keeping the Union from crossing the creek until reinforcements arrived. In the orginial battle casualties were 23 Union and 91 confederate. In my game Col Jackson inflicted about 400 casualties and sustained around 200. Here are some pictures; Hokes Run Confederate view | Jim Johnson | Flickr Union ready to attack | Jim Johnson | Flickr Jackson pushed back | Jim Johnson | Flickr Confederate reinforcements arrive | Jim Johnson | Flickr Jackson repulses the assault | Jim Johnson | Flickr Both sides were due to get reinforcements on the next turn. Col Bartow was moving up to support Jackson's brigade and Col Sherman's brigade was just coming onto the board. As this was just for me to work on learning the rules I ended the fight there. I had gone through 6 turns which would equate to 2-3 hours worth of fighting. It was a fun first outing and I learned alot about the rules. As you can see I definately need better terrain, and now that I have 4 brigades for each side fully based I plan on working on that. Thanks for looking.
