Had a go of Impetus Baroque with one of the playtesters last night, set in the ECW. Tremendous fun and I shall certainly buy them when they finally come out.

The playtest sets are still physically very ropey, and firmly under wraps. However I am going to introduce the react move, rather than put troops on opportunity, in my Italian Wars games in order to get them flowing quicker and more smoothly.

I have Black Powder, March Attack and Fast Play Grand Armee.

I use DBM (not that much these days), Impetus and to the strongest.

Art d'guerre for ancients

Have started looking at BBB for WW1 instead of GWSH. GWSH is great set of rules just takes more time than I have these days

Age of Eagles, the Napoleonic version of Fire and Fury.  A second edition has just been released and loads of support and scenarios at www.ageofeagles.com

Further to my post about a year ago, there is now a website with some further details about the rules I made up (as opposed to anything more precise) for fighting with 6mm Ancients, hex based terrain and an Excel spreadsheet.

Biblical-WRG Ancients 5th edition.

For Ancients it has to be   "To The Strongest" 

Gives a realistic feel to the period and plays to a finish in a couple of hours or so !

No measuring so no arguing over millimetres too far or too close

Uses any base sizes

Give it a go.    You will be surprised just how good these rules are

I use Warmaster Ancients for my 6mm games, mostly because I didn't have to pay a cent for it.
