Howdy! I'd just recently gotten copies of Polemos ACW and Napoleonics. I do a lot of my wargaming solo, and was wondering if anyone's played around with randomizing the Tempo Bidding (or some other mechanism). I could see placing a bid for one side, and using - say - a D6 for the other. Just wondering if folks have played around with any options.

Yes, lots and lots...please see this blog entry for the basic mechanism of how I usually do it.  There are tons of play examples through the blog as a whole for Polemos Napoleonics, Polemos Ruse de Guerre, Polemos ECW, Polemos SPQR & Polemos Wars of the Counter-Reformation.

For a more 'complete' solo system, you can use the system in Two Hour Wargames' "Morale Napoleon" and use the mechanisms from that with the game rules for Polemos Napoleonics or Polemos ACW.
