The end of the Baccus sale and nasty infestation

1st Feb 2025

The first and most important piece of news is that the Great Baccus sale is now over.  Prices have reverted back to normal – for now.   During the last week or so, we’ve had a nasty infestation at Baccus HQ.  Yes, we’ve had a nest of those damned critters, the, ‘Technical Issues’.  The pest controller was called in and has apparently got all of them, but they’ve still had a mark, which means that due to those, ‘Technical issues’, there is no order update  today.  Some version of normality will be resumed in a week’s time.

More importantly, the predicted price increase will be put into place next Wednesday,  You’ve still got a few days left to get orders in ahead of that time.   As always, we don’t do these things unless we REALLY have to.  If nothing else, it causes and enormous amount of work at this end involving legions of clerks, gallons of ink, much scratching of quill pens and a great deal of muttering, and even the odd complaint.   We’ll be introducing the new prices from Wednesday 5th February.

For some reason, in the last few weeks, We’ve had lot of emails asking me if it’s possible to change the composition of our packs as the customer wants larger or smaller unit than they allow.   Well, the answer is, ‘Yes’, as we know that not everyone organises their armies in the same way.   (I do cover this question in the Baccus site FAQs, but this is the least visited area, as one would expect…)

SO… here is the official Baccus answer to the above question.  ‘We are …prepared to alter the ratios of command to line in any pack. At its extreme this means that you can order a pack containing no command strips or no line strips. with any combination in between.’

Just order as normal and use the comments section to let us know what ratio of command to line you need.

As I am typing this, the first show of the UK season is nearly upon us in the form of Vapnartak at York.  I hope to see lots of you there.  We’ll be in our usual spot so drop by for a chat and a browse and to grill me about new releases and plans.
