Salute releases and beyond

2nd Apr 2019

Following on from a LOT of emails and phone conversations, I think it might be a good idea to let you know exactly what new stuff we'll have available at Salute.   It's a fair old list, so bear with me...

Working chronologically, we'll kick off with the 17thC Scots Highlanders.

There will be four codes covering upper and lower class chaps:

Code Description Items  Price
per pack
WEC 36 Upper class Highlanders, stood 24 £7.20
WEC 37 Upper class Highlanders, charging 24 £7.20
WEC 46 Lower class Highlanders, stood 24 £7.20
WEC 47 Lower class Highlanders, charging 24 £7.20

These releases mark the beginning of the end of the additions to the WEC range - a project that has over-run by over a year!   Coming soon will be some Irish pikemen and musketeers and finally some armed peasants.   The release of the Irish will mark the point at which we will be offering Scots Royalist army packs.

Moving on through the years sees the next set of releases for the Great War range.  This time, the Italians get the Baccus treatment.

There are a few more codes to add to this list in the form of some cavalry and Bersaglieri and these will follow on shortly.   The next stop in our Grand Tour of WW1 particpants will be Serbia.

Finally, we come to this year's major releases for the show as we get the Second World War project well and truely back on track.

I know lots of you will have been expecting lots of tanks and AFVs, but instead we've concentrated on infantry, artillery, tows and transports.  The less glamorous, but more numerous inhabitants of the battlefield.   We've also worked on releasing those components that make up a late war British infantry Brigade which in turn has allowed us to release our first larger packs.   These are all aimed at higher level rules sets such as Spearhead or even BKC and are modular; you can group the brigade packs together to create higher formations.  As usual with this sort of packaging they also represent a price saving.

One piece that we are particularly pleased with is our HQ set.   We are very much committed to producing a comprehensive, high quality and reasonably priced range all done with the 'Baccus touch'.   I think that this particular set shows that approach perfectly.

We've got a load of further British releases in the pipeline and the next tranche will include the armoured codes that are much anticipated.  We are also working on the first of the German range and the fruits of that will appear in the next few months.  Mind you, if all goes well, I may have a new German code available at the show as a taster..

All of the above will become available via mail order in the days following Salute.
