A Golden Ticket winner and a new range released
Hi Everyone,
Back to what some might call ‘normal’ for this week’s Baccus update, as we have the usual updates, another Golden Ticket winner, and the release of a new range of figures. Yes, folks, it’s all happening at Baccus HQ!
As is traditional, we will start with this week’s magic order number, which stands at #30164. We are now well on track to get order turnaround back to a more acceptable level, and if all goes well, this will happen ahead of our previous projection. Rumours that has been achieved by chaining the casters to their machines and only feeding them if they hit their production quotas are greatly exaggerated…well, perhaps not ‘greatly’…
Moving on to this week’s fun-filled update, we are delighted to announce last month’s Golden Ticket winner, Lloyd Bowler. Here’s what he has to say;

‘I and my friends have been customers for at least 20 if not 25 years. We started with GNW and WSS. Remember the Ga Pa rules? We play tested a proposed set of campaign rules for Thomas spending over a year playing strictly those rules. Needless to say all the battles starred your little men. (Unfortunately the campaign rules were never published, but we had a great time!). Since then we’ve painted and played several flavors of ancients, your figures have fought the ACW for us and now we’re getting ready to visit the old west and do some Pony Wars. I have never been disappointed with any of these figures and am completely amazed how you manage to inject personality into these tiny creations. Thanks for all the fun over the years! ‘
Lloyd now has a £60 voucher to spend on his Pony Wars project. If you would like to be in the next draw, it’s easy to enter. Just order £60 worth of products from the Baccus website, and you will be entered automatically in the draw for that month. I’ve had a couple of emails asking for clarifications on the rules, so to make things clearer, it must be a single order for £60 or more. Two orders each for £30 won’t count. The total is exclusive of postage and VAT costs. Finally, the total must be £60 or more. Getting close to that, but not quite making it won’t count. Phew!

It's now time to talk about the release of a new range. We are going back to that period that marks the end of the classical ancient period, but before what we would class as, ‘Early Medieval’. Welcome to the world of ‘Late Antiquity’. This is a period full of fascinating history and a new slate of armies and empires. We are starting off with one of the main players in this era, in the form of the Byzantine Empire. These codes are for the army of the 5th to the 7th centuries – the period of the attempted reconquest of Italy and epic struggles with the Sassanian Empire.

As always, we have codes for all the major troop types and a ready-made army pack. You can find all the details here.

Once consequence of playing catch-up with mail order is that we’ve diverted the caster who would normally work on replacing show stock to outstanding orders. This means that we haven’t been able to restock to our normal levels. This means that it really is more important than usual to let us know in advance if you have any specific things that you would like us to bring along for you. You can do this via the website shop, or simply send us an email or call us with a list. I would REALLY suggest you do this if you want more than a couple of any single code pack. The most that we bring of any single item is three packs. We had two customers at the recent Partizan show turn up with lists asking for ten packs of line infantry, and both were disappointed. Please don’t be disappointed – get in touch!
