Pikes, pikes and more pikes.
Hello All
We are setting off for the Colours show tomorrow, so the weekly update comes a day early. As ever, we will start with the week’s order number, which is #32771.
This week, we are mostly talking about pikes, muskets and arquebuses. Let’s start with a preview of some work in progress – our Italian Wars Swiss pikemen.

A batch of figures is currently with the sculptor having some headswaps done, but I’ve put a few of the basic castings on a base to show you what to expect. One the left of the picture we’ve got a bunch of Switzers with advanced (vertical) pike. Once you get a nice base full of these chaps and add a few cantonal flags, they really will give you that period woodcut effect.
The four castings on the right will form the Landsknechts at Charge with pikes pointed forward at various angles. Put together they will make for a spectacular unit, as many of you have got their Landsknecht equivalents will already know.

Sticking with the Pike theme, we will have our spectacular battle of Lens game at the Colours show in Newbury on Saturday 6th September. If you fancy spending half an hour or so commanding an army of 2000 men, just pop upstairs and have a go. The rules are very simple, very bloody and very fast. What’s not to like?
