You wait for one Sherman ARV to come along...

14th Jun 2024

Leaving all the fuss over last week’s Golden Ticket winner, it’s time to look at some new releases and at what is coming up for Baccus over the next couple of months.  But first, we have this week’s Magic Order number which stands at #29133.

Let’s start with some new releases, and this week we are mostly about making do and mending, as we’ve made available not one, not two, but THREE Sherman ARVs.   Given that prior to the WW2 range appearing on the Baccus site, my knowledge of all things tanky amounted to, ‘That’s a German tank, and that one is not a German tank.’, this does seem very completist, but it was explained to me in great detail about all the different versions of the Sherman, angle of degree of armour and suspension systems.   Just before my eyes glazed over and bits of my brain began shutting down as a self defence reaction, I nodded and said, ‘Just do it, but make the pain stop!’

So here we have an M32 Sherman ARV 60°,

an M32 Sherman ARV 47°

and an M32A1 Sherman ARV HVSS.

To give a little welcome relief the US get a little close support in the form an M8 75mm HMC.

The next batch of WW2 models will be released at this year’s Joy of Six, but I hope to have some teaser photos ready for next week.

The response to our new Teeny Tiny Terrain range has taken us aback.  We thought that the pieces would be popular, but not nearly as in demand as they have proved to be!   Work is nearly completed on the second set of models, and once again we are aiming for release at JOS.

All of which brings us round to the subject of wargames shows.   Many thanks to those of you who have already got your collect orders for St Helens, JOS and Claymore in to us.  It really is important that you start thinking early, especially for Claymore, as this takes place just two weeks after JOS and many of our codes will not have been replaced on the racks by the time of the show.

One added bonus about placing those orders ahead of time – they count as entries to the Baccus Golden Ticket draw, whereas sales on the day at the show do not, so make sure that your name is in the mix for the next prize draw.
