Something that is definitely a wee bit different...

16th Aug 2024

Hi All, welcome to the Baccus Friday news update.  As is boringly traditional with these things, I will start with the magic order number, which currently stands at #29153.   What is equally boringly traditional is that some orders in advance of this number will actually be on their way, and some prior to it will not have made this week’s cut.   And with all of that out of the way, let’s move to something a wee bit more interesting.

And it is something just a wee bit different this week.   In a recent set of comments about the World Cup of Wargames Manufacturers, the question of the elegant proportions of Baccus figures became an issue, with the term, ‘Gnome’ being bandied about.   I responded with, what I hope, was a fairly tongue in cheek reply featuring a photo of my painted ‘Gnomadier’.   The model is a porcelain piece from the stock of Lindy’s other enterprise, which is a crafts centre.

The photo then created a flurry of requests asking where I got the gnome and how much it costs.   Sadly, Lindy doesn’t do mail order, so I have created a little niche for it on the Baccus site here.

I had great fun painting this (big) little fellow, and that big hat just cries out to be painted as the Grenadier cap of your choice.   You just might need to use a little more paint than is required for the usual Baccus products…

Speaking of Lindy, she is now recovering nicely but is still very sore.   We will be taking advantage of the potentially sunny UK weather next week, to grab a few days holiday.   Casting will continue in our absence, but we won’t be getting the orders sent out or answering any emails until our return on 26th August.
