We are giving things away! Yes, really...
A bumper announcement this week, so let’s start with the magic order number, currently standing at #24904. Thanks to all of you who have called and emailed us following the Joy of Six last weekend. It’s quite taken us aback, as the number of contacts has been huge. We do have a lot of ‘official’ photographs of the game and the show in general, and I hope to get these put together a little further down the line. Sadly, preparations for Claymore have had to take precedence, so please bear with me. In the meantime, here is a picture of Per Broden's superb GNW game.

We’ve got two product related news items, and we hope that you’ll like them both. One thing that definitely did catch us by surprise has been the sheer popularity of our new Teeny Tiny Terrain items.

We’d be the first to admit that the concept can be very much a, ‘Marmite’, thing. (To the uninitiated, Marmite is a very strong big-tasting spread for sandwiches which is either loved or hated with very few folks sitting on the fence.) However, mail order sales have been way beyond all expectations and our stock at the recent Joy of Six was savaged.

So…we are now giving the opportunity to the Marmite Lovers to add to their collection and the Haters (or Undecided) the chance to give it a go. Starting from 20th July, (tomorrow as I type this), until Saturday 23rd August, we will be giving you one our TTT sets of your choice FREE with every £60 that you order from us. All you have to do is to order as normal and then use the comments section on the order form to let us know what you want. The details are as follows:
The qualifying amount(s) are £60 excluding p&p and VAT (where applicable).
TTC02, TTC03, TTR02 and TTW01 are not available on this scheme.
Dealing with wargamers can be an experience as you are all used to taking rules, dismantling then, discovering the loopholes and driving a horde through them. Anyone playing the rules lawyer will be hung, drawn and quartered, with their remains displayed in the four corners of the internet and their head put on display to ‘encourage the others’. You have been warned.

The next thing has come about by accident rather than design. We do get an awful lot of ‘returning wargamers ordering from us. Things like mortgages and parenthood put paid to pushing toy soldiers around on a table for a decade or two, but now circumstances allow for a return to the hobby. Sadly, the culture shock of the current prices of their familiar 28mm figures takes them by surprise and they turn to 6mm as a source of fiscal sanity. However, they are starting from scratch and need to put together the arsenal of painting and modelling supplies that the experience among us take for granted. As a result, we regularly find ourselves putting together the same set of items; paints, brushes, snips, a basing system and static grass applicator. As usual with all things, ‘Common Sense’, it was Lindy who spotted this and made the suggestion that we actually combine these into a single package. I am therefore delighted to be able to announce the release of the Baccus Painting and Basing Starter Kit. Sorry we couldn’t think of a snappier title, but it does sort of describe what it does. You can see more details here.
Finally, for today, please, please, please get in touch with orders for collection at the show. We are working flat out to replace the savaging that our show stock too at JOS, but we can’t possibly do this in time, so if you know what you want, just let us know so as to avoid disappointment.
