The Great Big Pre-Joy of Six social bash

Riverside Kelham, Saturday 2 July, 7pm to 11pm

To mark our wedding that is taking place two weeks after the Joy of Six, Lindy and I have arranged a social ‘do’ on the Saturday night prior to the show. There is no disco or loud music, this is just a get-together.   This will replace the ‘Beer and Curry’ night that we usually host for those of you staying overnight in Sheffield.  We’ve got a venue located in Sheffield’s infamous Real Ale Valley, and we would love to see lots of you there. 

6th June New Releases

Given the date, it seems an appropriate time for our latest Second World War releases.

First, we have the infamous DD Shermans.  Their usefulness on D Day helping to break through the Atlantic Wall was tempered by the numbers that sank.  Either way, along with the ‘Funnies’ they are forever linked with June 6th 1944.

It cannot have escaped any resident of the UK that our monarch has achieved the amazing feat of being 'in post' for seven decades.   There are generations of we British who have grown up with Elizabeth II as a fixture in our lives, and the country is about to start on a massive binge to mark this milestone.   

While I am a die-hard Republican and Roundhead at heart, I must admit to giving the Queen grudging respect for her dedication to her role and the way that she has represented our nation with dignity and grace.   Many countries around the world have 'a queen', but only the UK has 'The Queen'.

Partizan and a matched pair or two...

We had a great time at last Sunday’s Partizan show, of which more anon, but first, it’s time for that all important number.   This week, we are up to #20633.  As always, this number is a bit of a moving target, as there will be some numbers before this that won’t go out until next week, and a few after this that have already been sent.

Joy of Six 2022 Preview: Denmark 1985

Time for another preview of a wonderful game that will be coming to you at this year’s Joy of Six.  This time, we are showcasing the Cold War Commanders and their stunning ‘Denmark 1985’ game.

Shock, Horror! No new releases this week!

As usual, the first item on the news update is the infamous ‘magic number’, which is #20591.   It’s a little short of where I’d expected, but there are a number of orders cast and awaiting packing that will be done early next week.

Moving on, yes, it had to happen.  A regular weekly update with no new releases  Sorry to disappoint and all that, but we’ve been so busy getting ready  for Partizan this coming weekend that we’ve not had time to do all that photography and data entry malarkey.   Anyway, some of you have been complaining about, ‘not being able to keep up’, or some such nonsense, so we can all have a rest now, can’t we?   As a result, here are a couple of random photos from the class of 22 to keep you occupied.

It's Show Time!

Hello everyone, and welcome to another Baccus News update!

As usual, there is a fair bit to go at today, so keep on reading, because there’s lots good stuff.

As is customary we kick things off with this week’s magic number; #20500.    We are making very good headway on getting waiting time from order to casting to dispatch down.  Thanks for all your patience thus far.

Baccus Showcase #3 released.

I am delighted to be able to report that the third of our Baccus Showcase videos is now available for viewing.  This time the subject is our Great Northern War Swedes.   These are some of our newest sculpts and scrub up quite nicely.   You can find the video here.  

This week's releases

Firstly can I thank all of you who have got in touch and offered positive feedback on the first two Baccus Showcase videos.    The next one is nearing completion and I will be releasing that shortly.  In the meantime, if you haven’t already done so, check them out. 

We’ve been busy ahead of a UK Bank Holiday next week, and the magic number is #20398.  There are a good number of orders after this still in the pipeline and we’ll be straight on to those on our return.

All of which brings us to this week’s new releases.   Once again, we are going full steam ahead on the expansion of the Second World War range.  This time it is the German army that is getting a wee bit of attention.
