A long-ish Easter post, but a good one!

28th Mar 2024

It’s Easter, and the Baccus team are preparing for a few days off to indulge in eating large amounts of oviform cacao bean extract delicacies and generally chilling out.   So as not to let them off too lightly the Management have not spared the lash and I can say that we have reached order number #28430.

Let’s see if I can give out a couple of metaphorical Easter Eggs to mark the holidays.

Firstly, let’s talk Turks – more specifically, Ottoman Turk Cavalry.   These will officially be launched at Salute on April 13th.   However, if you are going to the show and you would like to order some of these little gems in advance, you can do so from today.   We can only accept orders via email or phone, and payments must be made when collecting at the show.   Here is what is on offer:

OTT15 - Sipahi Cavalry, Charging  £9.25

OTT16 Sipahi Cavalry, Stood              £9.25

OTT17 - Armoured Cavalry      £9.25

OTT18 - Tartar Cavalry            £9.25

OTT19 - Ottoman Generals         £4.00

The addition of the cavalry means that we can also offer an Ottoman Turkish Army Pack.

This pack can be your for just  £49.50.

If all goes to plan, I will have completed a rather splendid flag sheet to go with these fine figures, and you can see some of them proudly adorning the cavalry in the photos, but you’ll have to wait for confirmation for that one.

Also scheduled for a Salute release are our Ancient Nomads, which provide enemies for all sorts of more civilized folks in the Ancient Middle East.   More details will be forthcoming next week, but for the moment, here are a couple of preview photographs:

And yet a further release for the Big Day will be the first of our Second World War North Africa codes, in the form of 8th Army infantry and support weapons.   No full colour pictures of luverly little men yet, but here is a shot of the patterns all lined up awaiting their turn to be made into production moulds

One thing definitely not being released is some Italian Wars codes.  I know, I know, you REALLY want these, but patience will be rewarded.    I posted an image of the Gendarmes sculpts a couple of weeks ago.   I don’t think the photos did justice to just how beautiful these tiny models really are.  As a result, I’ve done a quick wash on some of the metal castings to show you the amount of detailing and individuality in each sculpt.   I cannot wait to put some paint on these chaps…

Remember, get those Salute collection orders in as soon as you can!
