Hi,

I'm new to historical war gaming. After seeing some LittlewarTV shows, I plan to start with Age of Hannibal. Any recommandations for a starter pack? I thought about MPA01 - Matched Pair - Carthage vs Rome

Any thoughts?

I think that the Matched Pair is a decent selection for getting started in this period, although I can't speak to how well the selection and number of different models fits into the basing requirements of your rule set. Once I get my 7 Years War armies built up, I'm considering branching into Ancients wargaming, and this pack is high on my list for starters. Hope this helps.

I own age of Hannibal and plan to use 4 strips per 40mm base. So using 6mm you will get like 6 bases per pack which makes large armies very affordable. I would plan your first armies out using the scenarios in the book and see how many packs of each you will need. Welcome to the wonderful world of 6mm wargaming!
