Battlefield Detectives, from the early 2000s, is doing the rounds on YouTube. Yesterday I watched the episode on Balaclava, which was excellent and demonstrated the important role the Turks played in holding off the Russian attack on the Causeway heights for three hours whilst the British army did nothing to intervene. Although really good on what it does cover, unfortunately the Charge of the Heavy Brigade receives no mention at all, but the Thin Red Line does. Turns out 2/3 of that was blueclad Turks. Apparently they were more or less deleted from history by Raglan's disparaging remarks and biased reporting by The Illustrated London News. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
