TOPIC: Age of Hannibal, Army Lists |
Standard User Posts: 25 kaiww 29th Oct 2022 07:07:55 So, for my crazy monster projekt i decided to go with "Age of Hannibal" its a really good system for fighting big, very big battles, but unfortunately it only provides extremely insufficiently and limitied army lists, so i did go full Thanos and said "Fine i do it myself". I got my information from various sources, but I'm still hoping that some bigger "history nerds" than myself, might have a few more tips. I've pretty much finished the first two for "the Greco-Persian War" and "the Peloponesian War". I'm open to all tips, hints and constructive criticism you can give me. ;) Here are all up to date Lists: The Greco-Persian War V.3 (499BC – 449BC) "My God, Mr. Bragg, you have quarreled with every officer in the army, and now you are quarreling with yourself." |
I have always been fascinated by the Hellenistic period, so my army list problem was solved by using the Pyrrhic campaign in Italy supplement. It neatly sorts out what I need to buy. A little goes a long way |
Standard User Posts: 25 kaiww 30th Oct 2022 05:19:36 While "Return to Magna Gracia" provides some army list, they are, at least in my eyes, far from complete or detailed enough. I really start to love "Age of Hannibal" but I need a detailed army list, I am German, it's genetic. ;) Doing these army lists now is one way of saving time and nerve later, when I have finished my first core armies and want to sit down to make a fast game, I do not want to then spend two hours creating an army list. And i do not wait until my army list is finished, I buy just everything I might need, i am already getting close to the first battles without cards as proxy. I have now 800+ Miniatures finished and based in 30 units, ;)

My goodness, you have been busy. There is a free Army Building Guide on the Little Wars website which has some basic lists that may at least give you a starting point. It covers Classical Greeks, Persians, Macedonians, Early Republican Rome, Carthaginians, Early Successors, Marian Romans and Gallic Armies. A little goes a long way |

"Greco-Persian Wars" and "Peolponesen War" should both be pretty much done by now, maybe there will be small changes here and there, but otherwise it's pretty complete. The new list "Phenician Dreams" (450bc-307bc) includes Carthage, Mauritania, Early Spanish, Syracuse and Sicelians. The list is now online so that I can get more opinions and perhaps tipps ? Later, i will add Numidians and Iberian Greeks to that List. More lists are coming, and a lot of them, as always I am happy about tips and constructive criticism. The Greco-Persian War V.2 (499BC – 449BC) Cheers. "My God, Mr. Bragg, you have quarreled with every officer in the army, and now you are quarreling with yourself." |
This is going to be very much appreciated by the AoH community. Unfortunately the third list had timed out and when I tried to pursue it something tried to get me to commit to a monthly direct debit, which in these strained times is completely out of the question in the ongoing attempt to keep warm this winter. A little goes a long way |

Should now work without trouble. Thx again for the warning and your kind words. "My God, Mr. Bragg, you have quarreled with every officer in the army, and now you are quarreling with yourself." |
Many thanks. A little goes a long way |
