TOPIC: FPW/KdA questions - Loigny Project |
Hi, We start to play tomorrow and We already have questions and We have not found the answers in the various posts consulted! 1/ We read on this post that there was errata on the Yahoo group! How can We know that Our rules is ok or if We need the errata? 2/ KdA page #13 : is the D6 result is secret before biding? could be interestering... as in Blücher Sam Mustafa rule! 3/ KdA page #14 : how to represent the "shaken" and "goes to ground"? tokens? 4/ KdA page #15 : after first reading of "Allocating the Tempo Points" it seems interestering system but We fear that after the biding... there won't be a lot of points left to maneuver, especially since some maneuvers are expensive! 5/ KdA page #17 : on the example, top right,
Thanks for help... before the next questions after first playing! :-) L'Empereur Béte et Méchant vous invite à visitez : Le Blog : https://lempereurzoom13.blogspot.fr/ & Le Projet 2020 : https://2020batailledeloigny.blogspot.fr/... I downloaded the errara for Polemos KdA when the Yahoo Group closed. AFAIK all there is for this ruleset is: Kommandant der Armee – KDA Force Morale (Clarification) The Question (From Patrick Lewis): In both the CdB and KdA rules the language for the Formation Morale test (CdB) and the Force Morale test (KdA) state that the test 'may' be taken when/if certain conditions are met. This makes it sound like the morale tests are optional and, if they are, I see no reason why anyone would voluntarily take them as no good can come from doing so. It seems to me that such a test should be mandatory and the word 'must' should be substituted for the word 'may.'
The Answer (From Dale & Peter Riley) You are correct in your interpretation I think I used the "may" in terms of there may be a test involved depending on what happened. But the Force/Formation Moral test is mandatory, as you a Dale point out, in the cases described: KDA If they have been in contact with the enemy. CdB Where they have suffered a shaken result. |
Thanks Whirlwind for this clarification. We and Our Friend Bertrand make Our First Polemos Game this afternoon and really appreciate the game system, easy and quick! What about the others questions? Is any body could help Us? L'Empereur Béte et Méchant vous invite à visitez : Le Blog : https://lempereurzoom13.blogspot.fr/ & Le Projet 2020 : https://2020batailledeloigny.blogspot.fr/... LEmpereur, I have played a fair bit of some of the Polemos rules but not KdA unfortunately. I think some of your questions are general 'Polemos' questions so I can have a go at the them, but not the specific one (Q5), unfortunately. Is the D6 result is secret before bidding? No. You could do it that way though by replacing the Tempo D6 with a chit draw system easily enough if you wanted another layer of uncertainty. How to represent the "shaken" and "goes to ground" tokens? I have used counters, casualty bases and single figures to represent these kind of unit states. After first reading of "Allocating the Tempo Points" it seems interestering system but we fear that after the bidding... there won't be a lot of points left to maneuver, especially since some maneuvers are expensive! This is exactly how the Polemos system is designed to work. |
Thanks Whirlwind ... We will study all of this! :-) We really apreciate the rule! :-) L'Empereur Béte et Méchant vous invite à visitez : Le Blog : https://lempereurzoom13.blogspot.fr/ & Le Projet 2020 : https://2020batailledeloigny.blogspot.fr/...
