TOPIC: What other rule sets do people most commonly use? |
Standard User Posts: 1 Colin Bright 3rd Jun 2016 05:26:47 Hi in our club W.A.R. We have been using Blucher and we have a good following. One of our members has also been running competitions, there is one this month at one of the BHGS events, I think there are places left if anyone is interested. We are also running a competition at our show, Warfare in November. We have found with Blucher that it can be learned in 20 minutes. We mainly use 6mm on 60 x 30mm bases so ideal for use with polemos bases. I suggest you give them a try. |

For Colonial: Patrols in the Sudan, though looking for something else. For 18th C: Maurice. For Napoleonics: Bluecher. For ACW: Longstreet (though I use 10mm for this. If I did it again in 6mm though, I'd still use the same rules). For WW2: Secret Upcoming Rules. For Modern: Still looking, currently using my own homebrew rules. |
What other rule sets do people most commonly use? dourpuritan 6th Jun 2016 07:20:00 For Colonial have you looked at Science v. Pluck - Sudan rules originally designed for use with 6mm. Unusually they are designed for a number of British players v. an umpire controlling the game and the Sudanese. Allows for some roleplay as well. A little goes a long way |
Standard User Posts: 19 andreasgum 6th Jun 2016 09:10:11 Beyond the Polemos Napoleonic and Great Northern War rules I found these two rule sets interesting: For Napoleonics: March Attack For general 18th century/SYW/GNW: Maurice "I have resolved never to start an unjust war, but never to end a legitimate one except by defeating my enemies." |

Standard User Posts: 208 Nick the Lemming 8th Jun 2016 02:01:48 I use Lasalle for my 15mm, Bluecher for my 6mm :)
And occasionally for Grand Armee, though haven't played that for ages. |

I'd rather use something like BBB for big affairs like Leipzig and Waterloo (both available on the BBB Yahoo group page) but I'm more interested in playing smaller actions in the Peninsula at the moment. A little goes a long way |
