They look very impressive and the terrain is remarkably good as well. The opening photo looks very like the formations used in Boudicca's final battle, but I am assuming this one is in Gaul, under Caesar, as the Romans look like republican types. A little goes a long way |
Yes, lovely stuff, especially like some of the terrain. |
Standard User Posts: 110 Leafs87 20th Jul 2021 01:35:53 Thanks for the feedback, folks. Appreciate it. Been stalking the Gallery the last few days and I've been struck by some stunning work which has inspired me to re-do/touch up my bases. @dour, absolutely correct -- the Romans are indeed Republican types, and I'll be exploring a few different scenarios spanning several hundred years of the Republic, as well as the early years of the Empire. The formations in the first pic were meant to represent the Republican Maniple, adopted during the Samnite Wars. I'll be starting with the Allia, however, moving through the Samnite and Punic Wars, touching on the Roman-Gallic conflicts, Boudica's revolt, and perhaps some of Agricola's campaigns in the north. @Mollinary -- that's one heck of an eye you've got! Yes, the Romans are Rapiers and do mix brilliantly with Baccus. Shout out and thanks to Rapier. Really pleased with the aesthetic and impression they produce from proper viewing distance on the terrain, esp. in contrast with Baccus' Celts. @Whirlwind -- cheers mate :) |
