The buildings are a mix of Timecast, Irregulars and other manufacturers (who have been at shows I attended when of course we could have shows to attend). Glad you enjoy the battle reports. |
Standard User Posts: 197 David Kay 3rd Aug 2021 04:56:33 As the temperatures rose and travel restrictions eased, my Essex lads (the Trinovantes) decided to go on holiday to Greece. Except the Greeks didn't want them and the Achaean League and Corinthians set out to repulse them. In the photograh, the Greek hoplites advance from the left towards the Celtic warbands whilst in the distance a Celtic flanking force closes in. Reports available on my website. |
Standard User Posts: 197 David Kay 28th Aug 2021 08:33:12 Time for another battle! A Near East confrontration with two reluctantly allied Persian satraps facing Herod of Judea. In the photograph one of the Persian satraps tries to cross the river via some fords but it looks as if the enemy are in place to prevent this. In the distance the main lines of both sides close. Reports (with more photographs) avaialble on my website. |

In the photo, the Roman legions advance from the left with the Greeks on the right - Thessalians in the far distance and Thebans in yellow nearer. Reports of what happened, with more photos (some in focus) available on my website for those with time on their hands. |
Standard User Posts: 113 Leafs87 14th Oct 2021 09:06:40 An enjoyable battle report, sir. And an eye-catching setup. Well done. The deployment/movement details for both Greek and Roman armies are impressive. The buildings making up Plutonia are fantastic, and your camp setup for Oldicus' aux has inspired some brainstorming for a future project.... :) |
Standard User Posts: 197 David Kay 16th Oct 2021 04:51:26 Thanks for the feedback. Here is another one to while away the time. This time the Spartans faced the Armenians at a site that may have resembled Snickers (previously known as Marathon). In the photograph, the Armenian infantry hold the slope on the right with their horse archers trying to wear down the approaching Spartan hoplites. |

Their commander, Sohaemus, with his cavalry escort is at the bottom of the photograph with his infantry to his left. Beyond them are their allies the Commagene and advancing from the right the enemy in the form of one of my Persian satraps. |
