Joy of Six 2023 - Floor plan!

With just under three weeks to go before we fling open the doors to the Joy of Six 2023, it’s time to show you what awaits the lucky visitors.  I am delighted to release this year’s floor plan.

New Baccus releases for Joy of Six

We’ve had a planning meeting today focusing on what we are going to showcase as new releases at a certain little show in Sheffield in about three weeks’ time. I’m sure that this might be of some interest, but first we have this week’s order number which stands at #24623.

Now let’s talk about our release plans…but before we do that, I’ve added a couple more photos of the new Comnenan Byzantine codes.   This has proved to be a very popular range indeed – and the good news is that we will be releasing more Byzantine armies from different eras over the coming months.

Joy of Six 2023 - Just 30 days to go!

Yes folks, there is just one month to go before the Joy of Six 2023.  

But before we get around to this, there is time to squeeze in this week’s magic number which stands at #24581. 

There is a slight edge of panic creeping in as we realise that we had better get around to doing some of this organisation stuff for the Big Day. 

Something a little different.

As promised, we are attempting to resume ‘Normal’ service this week – I will leave it up the more observant of you out there to define the term, as that is a task well beyond my misfiring neurons.

The order number this week is #24473, but as usual, there will be some prior to this that will be sent out next week, and the odd one ahead of it that sneak through.  One of the reasons for the irregular announcement of order numbers over the past few weeks has been the peculiar clustering of UK Bank holidays.   April saw us lose two days over Easter, while May will contain three, (three!) more Bank holidays.   That means that over the period of April to May, we have effectively lost a whole week’s worth of production.  Add to this the preparation for two major shows, one of which was Salute and that puts a lot of pressure on the system.   We are bouncing back pretty quickly, but please bear with us.

You too can now Go Big with confidence!

A slightly different update this week.  The ‘technical reasons’ that occasionally raise their little heads means that there is no magic number update.  A related set of circumstances also means that there are no new figures or models to announce.  Don’t worry, we will be back to normal in both cases next week.

However, we do have something novel for you to consider…

We are currently in the process of restocking our trade stand in anticipation of the next show on the Calendar, which is Partizan in Newark.   We’re hoping to have some really nice new releases and previews at the show, but more of that nearer the time.  For the moment, we have this week’s Magic Number which is order #24339.   All the usual caveats apply.

Which brings us on this week’s new releases, which are all Second World War.

Joy of Six 2023

It’s time for another update on the Premier UK Wargaming show that is the Joy of Six! I must start off with a statement that I never thought I would have to make.   We cannot accept any more applications for traders at the show. Yes, we are full up.   Given the nature of JOS, this is totally unexpected, but it reflects the increasingly high profile of the event, and in turn of its ability to show the very best face of 6mm gaming to the hobby as a whole.

We are also approaching saturation point with games.   While we are still open for applications, any received from now on will be put on to a reserve list. 

Just another update, but not bad for all that...

It’s the end of another working week and so it’s time for another magic order number.  This week, we are up to #24240.  All the usual caveats apply to this, in that some numbers in advance of it may actually be on their way, and some prior to it that didn’t quite make this week’s cut.

We have some more new releases for you this week, but first a couple of images of stuff we’ve had out for a couple of weeks but are only just catching up with the photographs.

We’ve now got the Varangians for the Early Medieval Byzantines featured in all their ferocious and sharp-edged glory.

With the dust settling on Salute, can I say , ‘Thank you’,  to all those who made our trip to London so very busy and enjoyable.  It was great to put faces to names and have a chat, no matter how brief.  (Hi, Nicolai and Martin!)  According to the organisers it was the best attended show ever, with around 6000 visitors.  Well done to SLW and the organising team – from a trader’s point of view it is a very slick operation and done very well on a grand scale.  Here’s to next year with Salute 51!

In terms of mail order, we are now at order #24160.  We’ll be putting a lot of work into casting next week, so will be catching up very quickly.

Salute releases now available

Welcome one and all to the pre-Salute update post.  Yes, the big event is just a couple of days away.   Preparing for a show of this size is both demanding and time consuming, especially when you had a very ambitious new release programme planned.

In the end, we will have most of our planned new releases available at Salute, but what has simply , been impossible has been to get them all photographed for your delight and delectation.   I do apologise for this, but normal service on this front will be resumed in the next few days.
